Schalke extended the contract of goalkeeper Ralf Faehrmann ahead of schedule, the "Royal Blues" confirmed via the club's official homepage.
After strong performances between the posts, Schalke rewarded their custodian Ralf Faehrmann with a contract extension until June 2020, Xinhua reported.
"With this newly-signed contract extension, we honour his brilliant performances on a high level. I am delighted that we were able to bind a crowd-pleaser," Schalke's sporting manager Horst Heldt said on Friday.
The 27-year-old custodian joined the "Royal Blues" from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2011 to make 63 appearances to date.
"My greatest wish is to play as successful as possible in the coming years. The positive trend of recent months make me feel very confident," Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Faehrmann said.
Third-placed Schalke encounter Berlin in the 9th round of Bundesliga on Saturday.
