The government Tuesday said the state-run Shipping Corporation of India has posted a net profit of Rs.31.35 crore during the third quarter of the current fiscal.
"It (net profit) brings to the total profit for nine months in the financial year 2014-2015 to Rs.99.44 crore. This is the fourth consecutive quarter when SCI has posted a profit," the shipping ministry said in a statement.
According to a regulatory filing made to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the company had reported a net profit of Rs.31.35 crore for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 from a net loss of Rs.65.67 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.
The company's total income during the quarter under review decreased by 2.92 percent and stood at Rs.1,126.13 crore from Rs.1,160.11 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
