SE Railway to run special trains to tackle year end rush

To tackle the year end rush, the South Eastern Railway Tuesday said it will continue running weekly AC premium special trains on Howrah-Chennai, Howrah-Yesvantpur and Santragachi-Ernakulam routes and the bi-weekly Jansadharan specials from Santragachi to Chennai.

According to a press statement by the SE Railways, services for the Howrah-Chennai AC Premium Special will continue to run till Dec 27 while the Howrah-Yesvantpur Premium Special will continue till Jan 28.

Another weekly premium special will also run between Santragachi and Ernakulam from Dec 6 till Dec 30.

Reservations for these trains will be available only through the internet at a dynamic fare. The Superfast Jansadharan Special train to Chennai will continue to run till January 2015 with unreserved coaches.

 

The Howrah-Chennai Premium Special will depart from Howrah every Friday. In the return direction, the train will leave Chennai every Saturday.

The Howrah-Yesvantpur Premium Special, where the maximum rush is expected, will leave Howrah every Monday. In the return direction, it will leave Yesvantpur every Wednesday.

The Santragachi-Ernakulam Premium Special will run every Saturday. On the return route, it will depart from Ernakulam every Tuesday.

The Superfast Jansadharan Special will commence its journey from Santragachi every Monday and Thursday. In the return direction the train will set off from Chennai Central every Wednesday and Saturday.
