Security agencies carried out an extensive search operation in Pathankot district of north Punjab on Tuesday following reports that some local residents had spotted 2-3 "suspicious men" in Army fatigues.
The Punjab Police and other security agencies carried out the search operation in and around Pathankot town, around 240 km from here.
However, no arrests were made till Tuesday evening.
Search operations have been carried out by security forces in Pathankot and Gudaspur districts virtually every month since January this year.
Terrorists, suspected to be from Pakistan, had attacked the frontier Indian Air Force (IAF) base in Pathankot on January 2 this year, leaving seven people dead.
The Pathankot attack was preceded by a terror attack by Pakistani terrorists on Dinanagar town in neighbouring Gurdaspur district on July 27 last year.
