A second person was arrested for allegedly honey-trapping Bharatiya Janata Party MP K.C. Patel, police said on Saturday.
Ajay Kumar, 40, a resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested on Friday evening, said Deputy Commissioner of Police B.K. Singh, adding that the accused was already involved in a murder case, besides a case under the Gangster Act being registered against him.
In May, a woman who alleged rape by the BJP MP was arrested from Ghaziabad, after the MP said that he was drugged and filmed in compromising positions with the woman.
Later, investigation revealed that the woman had extorted over 20 politicians by levelling charges of sexual assault and molestation.
"We were looking for Kumar for the past one month and there is one more accused who we are trying to arrest," the DCP told IANS.
He added that police is trying to get custody of Kumar and the woman, who is currently in jail, so that they could get details of the other accused.
