People in the NDMC area here need not fret any more. If they see poor civic amenities, they only have to click and use a photo-based app to alert the civic agency.
This is one of the measures being launched soon to improve the quality of life in the New Delhi Municipal Council area for residents, visitors and tourists, its chairman Jalaj Shrivastava said Sunday.
The mobile application is meant to address grievances regarding malfunctioning street lights or dirty streets and more.
The chairman said wi-fi facility will be started in some of the more popular markets in the area, beginning with Khan Market. Connaught Place, Dilli Haat and Sarojini Nagar will follow.
The service will allow everyone to search and download and use internet for free for up to 15 minutes. Nominal charges will be applied after that time.
Shrivastava said a smart card will be issued to pay for parking, water and electricity charges in the NDMC area, which covers the heart of the capital.

The card holders can recharge them at a minimum rate of Rs.100 - and also avail of 10 percent discount at parking facilities.
NDMC will also launch a unit, called Urja, to help underprivileged women in the NDMC area.
Beginning with 30 beneficiaries, they will roll out products of daily needs such as papad, pickles and masala.
Shrivastava said that with a view to attract more and more people to its many gardens, NDMC has decided that parking at Lodi Garden, Nehru Park and Talkatora Garden will be open till 11 p.m.
