A senior Indian Air Force officer was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the Sirsa airbase in Haryana, the state police said on Wednesday.
Wing Commander Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, 41, who was security in-charge at the airbase, died of a gunshot wound to his head. The police said it appeared to be a case of suicide.
His body was found in an IAF Gypsy he was driving at the airbase, over 250 km from here.
Further investigations are in progress.
The victim lived alone at the airbase while his family is based in Uttar Pradesh.
