Sensex down 36 points; banking stocks drop

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 35.90 points or 0.12 percent down on Thursday.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also trading 10.70 points or 0.12 percent down at 8,739.50 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 28,876.23 points, was trading at 28,763.79 points (at 9.21 a.m.) in the early session, down 35.90 points or 0.12 percent from the previous day's close at 28,799.69 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 28,876.23 points and a low of 28,759.65 points in the trade so far.

 

Good buying was observed in consumer durables and auto sectors, while selling pressure was seen in banking sector.
