A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Wednesday was trading 93.64 points or 0.36 percent up as capital goods stocks surge.
All the sectors were trading in green and the rally was led by capital goods, IT and banking stocks.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,130.26 points, was trading at 26,119.44 points (at 09.24 a.m.) in the early session, up 93.64 points or 0.36 percent from the previous day's close at 26,025.80 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 26,173.73 points and a low of 26,114.46 points in the trade so far.
The S&P BSE capital goods index gained 110.35 points, IT index moved up by 85.17 points and bankex inched up by 83.31 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 22.60 points or 0.29 percent up at 7790.45 points.
