A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 84.66 points or 0.39 percent in the pre-noon trade Wednesday.
Good buying was observed in healthcare, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and consumer durables sectors, while selling pressure was seen in capital goods sector.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,793.32 points, was trading at 21,911.08 points in the pre-noon session, up 84.66 points or 0.39 percent from the previous day's close at 21,826.42 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,965.95 points and a low of 21,768.14 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE healthcare index gained 135.24 points, FMCG index got augmented by 94.05 points and consumer durables index went up by 88.81 points. However, capital goods index dropped by 87.80 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 16.40 points or 0.25 percent up at 6,528.30 points.
