A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat Monday at 15.92 points or 0.06 percent up in the early session as the healthcare sector gained.
Good buying was observed in healthcare and consumer durables sectors, while selling pressure was seen in capital goods and banking sectors.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,919.45 points, was trading at 27,884.55 points (at 9.18 a.m.) in the early session, up 15.92 points or 0.06 percent from the previous day's close at 27,868.63 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,919.45 points and a low of 27,870.45 points in the trade so far.
The S&P healthcare index surged by 141.75 points and consumer durables index gained by 75.86 points. However, capital goods index plunged by 210.62 points and bankex dropped by 30.77 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading at 26.25 points or 0.31 percent up at 8,363.25 points.
