Women's World No.1 Serena Williams has qualified for the second round of the Swedish Open Bastad defeating Belgium's Ysaline Bonaventure here.
Williams defeated Bonaventure, the No. 215 in the world, 6-2, 6-1 in 53 minutes on Wednesday, reports Efe.
Serena thus won her first match in the Swedish Open, only days after bagging the 2015 Wimbledon on Saturday -- her 21st Grand Slam title.
Serena will now play 33-year-old Czech Klara Koukalova. Williams has defeated Koukalova on four previous occasions.
