Seven people were killed and three others critically injured in two different accidents in West Bengal Monday, police said.
The first incident which claimed five lives happened in the early hours of Monday in East Midnapore district's Kolaghat area, when the driver of a car carrying six people lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into a stationary road-roller.
"Five people were killed on the spot and another critically injured has been hospitalised," said an officer of Kolaghat police station.
Meanwhile, two people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when a car plunged into a canal after its driver lost control near the Basanti Highway in South 24 Parganas district early Monday.
