At least seven people, including a woman, were killed and five others seriously injured on Thursday in a collision between two trucks in Odisha's Ganjam district.
The accident occurred when the driver of a speeding truck lost control and hit a mini-truck from which vegetables were being unloaded by labourers. It also hit a bus standing near the mini-truck, police said.
Superintendent of Police (Berhampur) Sarthak Sarangi said that while six persons died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries in hospital.
The victims comprised four vegetable retailers, driver of the truck and helper and conductor of the bus, Sarangi said.
