At least seven people were killed and four injured in a road accident in Argentina's central province of Entre Rios, police sources said.

The accident occurred Sunday morning in the city of Victoria, 337 km from Buenos Aires, when a Renault Logan vehicle had a head-on collision with a SUV Mitsubishi Montero in the Province Road 26, Xinhua quoted sources from police and emergency services as saying.

The first reports said the Renault Logan drifted to the opposite lane and crashed against the SUV. Victoria's News Director Victorino Borre told local television channel TN that " the Logan vehicle made a wrong turning", adding that the passengers were returning from a party in the neighbouring city of Nogoya.

"The six passengers of the Renault Logan and one more from the SUV died in the accident. Four people including three children were injured and taken to a local hospital. Police and emergency authorities refused to reveal the names of the victims.
