At least seven people were killed and dozens injured, some of them critically, when a woman suicide bomber detonated herself in a bus in the Russian city of Volgograd Monday.

"According to preliminary reports, Dagestani native Naida Asiyalova, 30, blasted herself," reported Xinhua citing the Russian Investigative Committee spokesperson Vladimir Markin.

"This woman got on the bus at a bus stop and the explosion went off almost immediately after this," Markin said, adding that it had been confirmed by a survivor of the blast.

Thirty-two people, including one child, were sent to hospitals, he said, adding that eight wounded people were in extremely grave condition.
