At least seven Taliban militants were killed and eight injured in a clash in Afghanistan's Baghlan province on Friday, police said.
"A group of Taliban rebels stormed Burka district but police resisted, forcing the militants to flee," Xinhua news agency quoted the police as saying.
Sporadic fighting is still going on, the police said, adding that the militants may launch more attacks on Friday night.
