Rome, Feb 27 (IANS/AKI) A blind, tetraplegic 39-year-old Italian disc-jockey died after an assisted suicide procedure at a clinic in Switzerland, right-to-death activist Marco Cappato said on Monday.
"Fabo died at 11.40 am. He chose to leave this world respecting the rules of a country that is not his," Cappato announced on Twitter
"I will thank Marco until my death," DJ Fabo, whose real name was Fabiano Antoniani, said in recorded message published Monday on Facebook.
He was left severely disabled after a car crash in Milan on June 13, 2014.
Euthanasia, which is strongly opposed by the Catholic Church, remains illegal in Italy.
