Former Sevilla midfielder Stephane Mbia has joined Turkish super league club Trabzonspor on a three-year deal.
It was speculated that the 29-year-old Cameroonian footballer was on the verge of signing for Inter Milan, Xinhua reported on Sunday.
The defencive midfielder was plying his trade at Spanish club Sevilla for the past two seasons, winning back-to-back Europa League titles. He joined the Sevilla on loan from the relegated Premier League side Queens Park Rangers (QPR).
Trabzonspor now has a star-studded squad, including former Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo, Jose Bosingwa, and Kevin Constant, but have failed to put up a challenge for the Turkish championship, finishing at the fifth place.
Mbia flew in to Turkey and met club officials in mid-June. Another famous Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o signed a three-year agreement with Turkish side Antalyaspor, as the club announced last Friday.
