Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts' second hotel in India - a 19-storey, 397-room property in the heart of the Karnataka capital - started operations on Thursday
"Shangri-La's expansion on the Indian subcontinent marks an exciting third quarter for the group. We are excited to reveal a new luxury landmark in Bengaluru," said Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts president and CEO Greg Dogan, in a statement.
The hotel offers eight food and beverage outlets, health club, spa and a 739 square metre ballroom with six function rooms and a business centre.
"Shangri-La Bengaluru is our second hotel in India after Shangri-La - New Delhi and another new property is coming up in Bengaluru soon," said Shangri-La Bengaluru general manager Peter Jens Corder.
Shangi-La Hotels and Resorts chain owns and manages more than 90 hotels under the Shangri-La brand with a room inventory of nearly 38,000 rooms across the world.
New properties are under construction in mainland China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Myanmar, Philippines, Qatar and Sri Lanka.
