Sharif's envoy meets PM

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's special envoy Shaharyar M. Khan Friday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and delivered a letter conveying Islamabad's "sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India".

Sharif's letter contained warm expressions of goodwill and good wishes for the Indian prime minister and the government and the people of India, a Pakistan High Commission release said here.

The release said the Indian prime minister warmly reciprocated the sentiments expressed in the letter.

Shaharyar Khan called on Manmohan Singh and delivered the letter that conveyed Pakistan's "sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India".

 

The high commission also said that the special envoy met National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon and Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai.

Shaharyar M. Khan is a former foreign secretary of Pakistan.
