Actor-director Shashank Udapurkar, who was last seen in a biopic on Gandhian activist Anna Hazare, will next be seen essaying the role of Sambhaji Bhosale -- the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji -- in a biopic titled "Sambhaji 1989".

"In my second biopic film, I am enacting Sambhaji, son of historical ruler Shivaji. This time I am playing completely opposite character, from silent Anna to violent Sambhaji. Biopic on 'Anna' in 'Anna: Kisan Baburao Hazare' and 'Sambhaji' are altogether opposite characters and the changeover is amazing," Shashank told IANS.

Directed by Rajesh S Dulgaj, the biopic is slated to release next year.

After doing two biopics on two revolutionary men, Shashank says "the benefit of a biopic is they are well written characters and people know the final result".

"So, we get reactions immediately. Biopics are being made and appreciated also throughout the world. Today's youth is the best audience. They have all the mediums to not only see Indian films but also world cinema. Their judgment is very fast," he added.
