A delegation of 'Shiksha Mitras' called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday and sought his intervention in the impasse over their assimilation into jobs after an adverse Supreme Court ruling, an official said.
"The meeting was held in a conducive atmosphere during which the Chief Minister gave the delegation a patient hearing and the delegates handed him over a memorandum," said a state government spokesman, adding efforts were on to find an acceptable solution to the issue.
The spokesman said that for doing so it was necessary that a common and agreed by all memorandum be presented by all representatives of the Shiksha Mitras so that it can be deliberated upon by the Additional Chief Secretary, Basic Education and a solution thrashed out.
Officials also said that the state government was sensitive towards the problems of Shiksha Mitras, who have been holding demonstrations in the state capital for the past two days. Lakhs of them have converged here, holding the city and the traffic to ransom.
