A protestor hurled a shoe at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi during his road show in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The missile flew close past the Congress leader's head.
The shoe thrower has been taken into custody, police said.
The Congress leader has been on a poll campaign in the election-bound state.
