Indian shuttler Anand Pawar moved into the men's singles second round at the China Masters Super Series at the Olympic Sports Center Xincheng Gymnasium here Wednesday.
The World No.39 escaped an extremely tough first round encounter against top seed and World No.2 Chen Long of China, who gave a walkover.
In the next round, Pawar will face Japan's Sho Sasaki against whom he has a poor 0-2 record.
Mumbai's Ajay Jayaram will also be seen in first round action Thursday against Chen Yuekun of China.
