Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 42.90 points or 1.51 percent, to close at 2,886.29.
A total of 2.14 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 2.36 billion Singapore dollars ($1.67 billion), Xinhua news agency reported.
Gainers outnumbered decliners 326 to 177, while 443 others finished unchanged.
The STI index lost 38.77 points or 1.29 percent, to close at 2, 971.01 on Monday.
