In a bid to address the problems of traders regarding the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday flagged off six 'GST awareness mobile vans' from Delhi Secretariat.
These vans will have officials from the trade and taxes department aboard and would visit different markets here for about 15 days.
The officials would address issues raised by the traders regarding the new tax regime.
Sisodia, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said the officials at the mobile vans would not only address the concerns of traders regarding GST but also spread awareness among general public through announcements regarding the new tax regime.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader also said that the traders can give suggestions regarding the GST and he would put those suggestions in the meeting of the GST council.

Earlier this month, Sisodia had expressed his concerns about the new tax regime and said the current form of GST could lead to the rise of the black market and "inspector raj" because of its higher tax slabs, which will trigger lower compliance.
