Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday sacked six workers at three Anganwadi centres after he found irregularities during surprise inspection.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader told the media that he had received several complaints about the working Anganwadi centres in east Delhi's Krishna Nagar and Gandhi Nagar areas.
He inspected six centres and found irregularities in the attendance registers of children in three of them.
"On the basis of the attendance registers I myself visited the residences of the children for verification. I came to know that fake names of children were listed in the register."
He then ordered the sacking of three Anganwadi Sahayika and three Anganwadi Sanchalika.
Sisodia said that Anganwadi centre was a step towards the foundation of the country and people who will "play with the future of children will not be spared".
