Seoul, Dec 4 (EFE) North Korea has proposed a visit by Kim Yo-Jong, the younger sister of Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, to South Korea, making her the first member of the Kim family to visit the South, a South Korean organisation said Thursday.
Kim Yo-Jong has been invited to a food festival in March organised by the South-North Economic Cooperation Businessmen's Association, the organisation's spokesperson told Efe news agency.
The association has sent her documents through the ministry of unification to get approval for the North Korean delegation's visit.
Kim Yo-Jong, 27, was identified as a deputy director of the Workers' Party of Korea last week, but appears to be the director of the party's foreign business division in the documents sent by North Korea.
"It is possible that Kim Jong-un's sister has a different post, or she is a different person with the same name," a ministerial source told Efe.

The economic cooperation association confirmed that the person in question is Kim Yo-Jong, but did not provide any further information.
She would be the first from the Kim family to cross the border since the creation of North Korea following World War II.
She is believed to be following in the footsteps of her aunt Kim Kyong Hui and has increased her influence in the Communist country.
However, nothing can be confirmed due to the high level of secrecy in North Korea.
