Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman should take "inspiration" from late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi while dealing with Pakistan, Goa Congress President Shantaram Naik said on Tuesday.
Naik, who was speaking at the observance of Gandhi's death anniversary at the Congress House here, also said that Sitharaman should stop playing second fiddle to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Sitharaman should take inspiration from late Indira Gandhi. She should deal with Pakistan from a position of strength and should not be a mere show piece which Modi would like her to be," Naik said.
"It appears that neither the Prime Minister nor the Defence Minister is concerned about the deaths which take place of our jawans every week."
