Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has admitted that he and his teammates enjoy reminiscing about the games against Barcelona in 2013 that resulted in an overall 7-0 aggregate win for the Bavarian giants, but warned that the current situation is different from the one two years ago.
"Naturally it is nice to remember how things were at that time. But now we have other games with other assumptions. Both teams have evolved," Boateng said on Monday, reports Efe.
Questioned on how to contain Barcelona's attacking line formed by Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, Boateng said that everything depends on the performance of the team, which "must defend and attack as a team once again".
Boateng also referred to the return of teammate Robert Lewandowski to training with a protective mask after he fractured his nose and jaw, confident that the striker would be able to play on Wednesday.
"Lewy has made a very good impression in training. He is not afraid, is very brave and will get used to the mask," Boateng said.
