At least six couples were held in objectionable positions when the police raided a BSP leader's hotel here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

According to the police, the joint raid by a woman police team and Anti-Romeo Squad was conducted after a tip-off that the hotel management allows young boys and girls to stay for a short period on hourly basis where they engage in immoral acts.

The couples were taken to a police station for further investigation.

The hotel Royal Palace in Ghaziabad is owned by Bahujan Samaj Party leader Kamal Jatav, who is the coordinator of the party's affairs in Meerut and Saharanpur districts.

"The process of registering an FIR is underway. Since the couples are in custody, the FIRs would be finalised after the interrogation is completed," said Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar.
