At least six people were killed and over 50 others injured in a suicide blast outside a local office in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of Khyber Agency on Tuesday, an official said.
Assistant Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah said that the suicide bomber wanted to enter his office in Jamrud, the capital city of Khyber Agency, but blew himself up at the entrance gate when stopped by the Khasadar Force tribal police, Dawn reported.
Local media reported that the bomber targeted Shah as soon as he left his office for visiting a hospital.
Abb Takk News reported that the bomber killed two people including a tribal policemen on the spot while the remaining four succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.
A total of 46 seriously injured people have been shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex in the nearby city of Peshawar while the remaining were admitted into a local hospital.

Shah said that the injured people included 16 tribal policemen.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Security forces have cordoned off the blast site for investigations and imposed a curfew in the area.
