At least six Jordanian officials were killed and 14 injured on Tuesday in a terror attack at the border with Syria, the country's armed forces said.
Those killed include four border guards, a civil defence member and a member of the public security department, Xinhua news agency reported.
A booby trapped car exploded at the no man's land between Jordan and Syria, the military said.
Deputy Prime Minister Nasser Judeh condemned the attack. "This evil will be defeated," said Judeh.
More than 50,000 Syrian refugees are stranded at the no man's land as Jordan discovered that a large number of them were members of the Islamic State or its supporters.
Since 2011, the Jordanian Army has foiled many attempts by terrorists to infiltrate into the country.
