Six people die after train rams truck

Six people were killed and four others were injured when a train rammed into a truck at an unmanned railway crossing in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district Monday.

According to police, the accident took place at Kapasan area in the district, some 250 km from here, in the morning.

"Bandra-Udaipur Superfast train was on its way to Udaipur. The victims, all belonging to a same village, were travelling in a mini truck. The truck driver didn't notice the approaching train. The truck was shredded into pieces," said a police officer.

The victims, including three women, were identified as Roopa Banjara, Jagdish, Babu, Sosar, Chandu and Radha. All died on the spot.

 

The injured four are undergoing treatment at an Udaipur hospital.
