Works for the Rs.200-crore proposed integrated check post at Petrapole on the India-Bangladesh border are slow moving due to problems regarding land acquisition and obtaining clearances from different agencies, an official said Tuesday.

The check post, to be come up in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district for fast movement of goods and cargo across the borders, was expected to be ready by end 2013.

"The integrated check post is likely to be inaugurated by August next year," said Amit Kumar Roy, commissioner (Preventive), Customs at an event organised by the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"Work is slow-moving. The check post will be made operational in another 12 to 15 months time," he said.
