Smith eclipses Bradman's record

Steven Smith's record-breaking spree continued after the Australian skipper eclipsed one of Donald Bradman's longest standing marks against India on day four of the fourth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) here Friday.

According to foxsports.com.au, Smith's incredible run of form continued as he passed Bradman's record for most runs in a series against India, a mark set more than 65 years ago.

Australian captain Smith scored his 19th run in the host's second innings that took him to 717 runs in the ongoing four-match Test series, going past Bradman's record of 715 against India in 1947-48.

 

He went on to make 71 in Australia's second innings before being dismissed.

Most runs in a Test series against India: 769-Steve Smith, 8 innings in 2014-15; 715-Don Bradman, 6 innings in 1947-48; 706-Ricky Ponting, 8 innings in 2003-04.
