Congress leader Ambika Soni on Thursday said HRD Minister Smriti Irani has no "moral and legal" right to continue in her post after a Delhi court took cognisance of a complaint that she gave false information about her educational qualification.
Soni also demanded the resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over her alleged links with former IPL chief Lalit Modi.
"Smriti Irani has no moral and legal right to occupy the chair as her own degree is in controversy. She should resign as a minister or else the prime minister should remove her," she told a public rally here.
The Congress held the rally to mark the completion of two-and-half years of its rule in the state.
Describing the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government as anti-farmer, the Congress leader said the previous Congress-led government at the centre had opposed the introduction of the Land Acquisition Bill.
