Snapdeal.com forays into premium designer-wear segment

Digital marketplace Snapdeal.com has announced the launch of The Designer Studio in association with Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). It promises to offer the best of fashion from some of the biggest names in the industry.

The Designer Studio will not only include ready-to-wear and made-to-order clothing collections, but will also build consumer engagement by presenting the complete achievement timeline of each participating designers like Manish Arora, Malini Ramani, Ashish N. Soni and Varun Bahl.

In clothing, the range for women will include dresses, tops, tunics, kaftans, saris and bridal wear. A made-to-measure service for bridal wear by Arora will soon be added on The Designer Studio.

 

For men, there is a collection of shirts with intricate handcrafted detailing and more along with printed waistcoats.

"With the launch of The Designer Studio, we aim to provide access to exclusive and premium designer creations to our customers, meet their aspirations and help improve availability, especially in tier 2 cities," Amit Maheshwari, vice president - fashion at Snapdeal.com, said in a statement.

FDCI president Sunil Sethi said that they "aim to use this platform to strengthen Indian fashion design community and help bring the best-of-the-best of Indian fashion to consumers across India".
