Night temperatures continued to improve on Wednesday due to cloud cover in the Kashmir Valley while the day temperatures dipped owing to snowfall.
"The minimum temperature was minus 0.3 degrees Celsius here on Wednesday while the maximum was 2.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
"The general improvement in the minimum temperatures in the state has been due to cloud cover, although fresh rain and snow have brought down the maximum temperatures in the valley.
"Pahalgam recorded 0.3 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 3.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperatures.
"Leh town in the Ladakh region also showed improvement in the night temperature with the minimum of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius," a Met official said.
According to the official, light to moderate rain and snow will occur in Jammu and Kashmir till Thursday evening after which the weather is likely to improve.

Jammu city recorded 12.8 degrees Celsius, Katra 13.8 degrees Celsius, Batote 3.4, Bannihal 0.7 and Bhaderwah recorded 1.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperatures.
