Continued snowfall and a cold spell have claimed the lives of five people in Afghanistan over the past five days, an official said Saturday.
The official said the victims include a shepherd and four others who lost their lives in Khanabad and Chardara districts in the country's Kunduz province, Xinhua reported.
However, the official added that snowfall stopped Friday but chilly wind is still continuing.
In another incident, four children were killed and their parents badly injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a room in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province Friday night, district governor Amanudin Qurishi said.
