An Indian soldier was injured in a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, a Defence Ministry official said on Tuesday.

The Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian positions in the Uri sector on Monday evening.

"Indian positions effectively and strongly retaliated. The injured soldier was shifted to an Army base hospital in Srinagar," the official added.
