South Africa ended Day 2 at 32/2 in their second innings, requiring 278 more runs to win the third Test against India in the three days of play remaining at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium here on Thursday.
Opener Dean Elgar (10) and skipper Hashim Amla (2) were batting at the crease at stumps with the visitors chasing a target of 310 runs to level the four-match Test series.
South Africa earlier bowled India out for 173 in the second innings.
