South African, Brazilian naval ships in Goa

South African Naval Ship Spioenkop and Brazilian Naval Ship Amazonas are visiting Goa as part of the trilateral naval exercise IBSAMAR, an official statement said.

IBSAMAR (abbreviation of India-Brazil-South Africa Maritime) will be held off the Goa coast this time.

The South African ship, commanded by Captain Mark Boucher and the Brazilian ship, commanded by Commander A.C. Imumura also participated in the recently concluded International Fleet Review at Visakhapatnam.

The first exercise took place in 2008.
