South Africa's left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso was reported for a suspected illegal bowling action on Thursday.
"Phangiso's action will now be scrutinised further in accordance with the CSA regulations," Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement.
The 32-year-old is in the Proteas squad for the upcoming World T20 and will undergo tests which will be conducted by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The spinner will hope to get a clearance certificate for the world event which starts on March 8.
South Africa open their campaign on March 18 against England in Mumbai.
Phangiso was reported for illegal bowling action after helping Lions get into the final of South Africa's provincial 50-over competition when he took 2/38 in eight overs.
A few days back, Phangiso, who was in South Africa's squad for their recent Twenty20 series win over England, was made to apologize after being caught by television cameras imitating snorting cocaine while in his team's dugout.
