South Korea partner country at Karnataka's investors meet

South Korea on Friday agreed to be a partner country at the ensuing 'Invest Karnataka' global investors meet here February 3-5.

Accepting the state's invitation, Korean envoy to India Cho Hyun said at a meeting here that there were huge opportunities for Koreans to do business in the southern state.

"I will talk to Korean airlines to operate direct flights from Seoul to Bengaluru," Hyun said at the Korea-Karnataka summit in the city, organised by his embassy.

State Industries and Tourism Minister R. V. Deshpande highlighted several industries hold great potential for cooperation between the two Asian nations.

"Several opportunities in the areas of auto manufacturing, electronic system design and manufacturing and IT for Korean companies to invest in Karnataka for rich dividends," he said.

 

More than 20 Korean companies including Samsung and Hyundai participated in the caravan aimed at enhancing mutual understanding between the countries.
