The changes in Spain's national football squad is aimed at making further progress ahead of the European Championship 2016, head coach Vicente del Bosque has said.
He said Spain had a "fairly balanced team in terms of young and experienced players".
"We are in a process of a slight change and I hope we reach top form before the beginning of the Euro 2016 next summer in France," Del Bosque told Efe on Thursday.
The Spanish coach is here to attend a ceremony to honour former Spanish international and current player of Qatari side Al Sadd Xavi Hernandez after he was named as Marca Legend by Spanish sports newspaper Marca.
Under del Bosque's command, La Roja is looking forward to defending the next European championship, having won the previous editions in 2008 and 2012.
"We had good qualifiers, which is important and we will try to defend our title next year in France," del Bosque said.
