Spanish tennis player David Ferrer on Tuesday advanced to the second round of Wimbledon, defeating Richard Gasquet.
The 35-year-old Spaniard clinched a 6-3, 6-5, 5-7, 6-2 victory over the Frenchman in two hours and 54 minutes, reports Efe.
Ferrer, World No.39 is unseeded at Wimbledon this year, the first time this has happened since the Australian Open 2005.
In the second round, Ferrer is set to play against Belgian Steve Darcis, who defeated Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in three hours and five minutes.
