In a bid to attract more flyers in the upcoming lean season, budget passenger carrier SpiceJet on Wednesday announced a new promotional air fare scheme.

The scheme 'Monsoon Bonanza Sale' offers passengers with one-way base fare that starts from Rs 444 for its non-stop and via flights on its domestic routes.

According to the low-cost carrier (LCC) the promo one-way base fare of Rs 444 under the new scheme is valid on its Jammu-Srinagar, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Mumbai-Goa, Delhi-Dehradun and Delhi-Amritsar flights among other routes.

"Fares would vary from sector to sector depending on the travel distance and flight schedules and timings are subject to regulatory approvals and change," the airline said in a statement.

The new five-day sales offer which was launched on Wednesday will be open till the midnight of June 26, 2016.

"The travel period covered in this sale is 1st July, 2016, to 30th September, 2016, and is valid only for travel on non-stop and via flights on SpiceJet's domestic network," the statement added.

"SpiceJet flyers can therefore avail these attractive fares to plan their domestic travel well in advance."

Currently, the airline operates 293 daily flights to 41 destinations, of them 35 domestic and six international.

It has a fleet of 25 Boeing 737NG and 14 Bombardier Q-400s aircraft.

Airlines are known to offer these kinds of special fares not just to stimulate demand, but also to increase load factors during the lean seasons. The periods between January-March and July-September are considered to be lean travel seasons.
