Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho has emphasized that he is "absolutely" not worried that Peru international footballer Andre Carrillo, who is excluded from the first team because of his refusal to renew his contract, may sign for rivals Porto or Benfica.
Carvalho explained on Tuesday that as Carrillo is under disciplinary proceedings, the law stipulates that he can talk with any club, but Sporting must receive notice about any negotiations, reports Efe.
The 24-year-old midfielder was suspended last September and was accused of treachery by the club due to his refusal to renew his contract, which expires in June 2016.
Speculation in Portugal says that the player may move to Valencia, Inter Milan, Galatarasay or domestic rivals Benfica or Porto.
Carrillo joined Sporting in 2011 from Alianza Lima for 1.5 million euros ($1.6 million) and played 162 games and scored 16 goals with the Lions in four and a half seasons.
